You might be asking yourself why you should listen to me.
Before I get into the course review, I should probably tell you that I have been running an online business since 2014.
I am now able to make a solid $50K per month through my local lead generation company, which is mostly passive income at the moment.
A number of online businesses have also allowed me to live my life on my terms, leaving behind the 9-5 grind.
Despite having a few successful online businesses, I am a passionate entrepreneur who is driven to solve problems and add value.
I am always open to new business opportunities. I want to ensure that I remain on the cutting edge of the online space.
Let's now find out if Audiobook Income Academy 2.0 is worth your time or not!
Three Big Questions about Audiobook Income Academy 2.0
What is Audiobook Income Academy 2.0?
You've probably seen the ads for Audiobook Income Academy. Their big tagline, before they reveal the course's name, is that they will teach you a new method to make money with Amazon that's more profitable than selling products on Amazon.
Then they lure you into their 3-hour webinar, where they pitch you the foundation of their course, and then reveal its name.
You might think that an audiobook course is all about creating Audiobooks. But, in this instance, it's much more.
It's a course that claims it will teach you how to start a self-publishing business.
Their pitch is that they will give you the inside scoop on Amazon's Kindle, paperback, and Audiobook platforms.
It was fascinating to see that they kept emphasizing the fact that this is a new way of making money that no one else is teaching...
Last time I checked, Kindle publishing as well as Audiobook publishing were both around for a while. So I was a bit skeptical that this was a new way to make money.
Who put the course together?
The Audiobook Income Academy course, which is run by Rasmus and Christian Mikkelsen twins is at its heart. I don't know which one.
They claim to have made a fortune through Kindle and Audiobook publishing and are now going to share their secrets with you.
Their YouTube audience is around 40K. They post videos every week, but most of their videos are short (10 to 15 minutes).
They are also quick to inform you that they have been featured in Forbes magazine. However, I believe this is the online version.
To be honest, I was a little puzzled at how these guys were able to land an article in Forbes.
It almost feels like a paid advertisement, but I'll let the reader decide.
It All Starts with Their Webinar
You'll be able to join the Mikkelsen's online learning ecosystem via their Webinar, just like most other courses.
They are big on YouTube ads (that's where I first discovered them), which offer a "new" way to make money with Amazon.
They are quick to point out this is not Amazon FBA and tell you how flawed that model is (which is it by the way).
Then, they push you to their Webinar where they promise to "reveal the big secret".
Attention! The webinar will last 3 hours.
Once you are in, they begin to guide you through the process and "painting your picture", as they say.
They will explain the business model and outline the potential for you.
They explained that it was just a numbers game. If you sell 450 books per month for $7.80, you will make $3,510
The webinar is set up in the traditional format. They pretend it's live, so you can watch in real-time.
It is impossible to pause or stop it. There are even chat windows.
The problem was that I couldn't find the exact same video on Vimeo. ).
You will receive emails reminding that you have signed up for the Webinar. They also send you a series of emails informing you to view the recording.
Is that still possible in 2022?
Module by Module: Course Breakdown
This course is like many other online courses. It's broken down week-by-week. The idea is to keep you on track and not let you become overwhelmed by too much information.
Week 1: Millionaire Mindset
While I believe that mindset is a key part of success, don't get me wrong. It's just not something I like about having to take up an entire module of a course that I paid a lot for.
It's true that you have to look at the bigger picture. But, I felt this module was full of cliches.
It could probably have been compressed to take up a fraction of its time.
Despite that, it was still valuable and I enjoyed the section about "How successful people act".
MODULE 1
Week 2: Picking Your Niche
The second week focuses on choosing the right niche for your expertise. This will help you choose the right topic to write your first book.
An overview of the accounting system will also be provided to help you bankroll your business. * Be aware that there may be some sneaky investments as you go along.
MODULE 2
Week 3: Create Your Book
Week 3 focuses on the details of creating your first book.
It was a great lesson on how to have your book ghostwritten. I believe in outsourcing processes to free up time for higher-level activities.
Ghostwriting your books is a great way of doing this. Instead of spending time writing content, you can spend your time creating strategy for your business.
Outsourcing has been the key to my success in scaling my online businesses. Without outsourcing, I would not be able earn as much as I do today.
Module 3 covers a variety of strategies including:
MODULE 3
Week 4: Growing your Audience
This module explains how to promote your book, build a mailing list, and implement funnels. It also teaches you how to create Facebook groups.
It doesn't really matter how great your book is or how cool its cover is.
You can't sell anything if you don't have eyeballs.
This week you'll discuss all this and ensure that your book is in front of the right people who want it.
MODULE 4
Week 5: Week of Launch Week
This week, it's time to get on the road. You'll learn how launch your book and begin getting sales.
It doesn't matter what your book is, if the launch process isn't done correctly, you won't be able to get people to read it and possibly buy it.
These are the areas that will be covered by this module:
MODULE 5
Week 6: Audiobooks and Ads
This week, you will learn how to drive traffic towards your books using paid traffic, particularly Amazon paid traffic.
This course will teach you how to set up campaigns and then how they can be run as efficiently as possible.
It's all about the Average cost of sale (ACOS) when you think of Amazon advertising. They'll show you how to keep it as low as possible.
The world of Audiobook Creation will also be covered. You will learn the basics and how to have your Audiobook narrated.
MODULE 6
Week 7: Next Level Publishing
The last module of the training course focuses on how to grow your brand and take your publishing business to the next level.
It is great to see the bigger picture and the potential, but it is equally important to stay focused on the basics.
Also, you should learn to walk before running!
MODULE 7
What else do you need to know?
After we have covered the main points of the course let's talk about some other important things before you decide if your publishing career is going to take off!
Bonuses: What else can you get?
The Mikkelsen twins aren't afraid to show off a sales trick. They pile on the bonuses and create a lot of "perceived” value.
It's not clear how much this value really is worth (they claim it to be about $34K on the sales page), but they use it as a marketing tool that works well.
Some examples of "bonuses" are:
Audiobook Income Academy Bonuses
What is the cost of Audiobook Income Academy?
The course was $1,497 at the time of writing or $3 installments of $797.
As I read comments online, it seems that the price has been raised recently. Users have mentioned having paid $997.
Sales are good so the twins can afford to raise the price a bit.
Do I believe the content is worth the price?
That's something I think we can discuss.
It's too expensive for the quality you get.
Don't get me wrong. I don't mind spending a few hundred dollars on an online course that will teach me a new skill. (This is what I did before and now earn $600K per year because of what I learned).
It makes sense if the content that you pay for allows you to invest 10x.
Audiobook Income Academy is a case in point. I am not convinced that it will, however.
What is the Refund Policy?
Okay, I have to say that the refund policy is pretty awesome!
This seems to be one of the most legitimate refund policies I have ever seen (assuming there aren't any hidden catches).
It all boils down to this.
You can give the course a shot by working through the entire course and publishing at least one Audiobook. If you don't make $5,000 in 180 days, you will get a refund without questions.
They'll also give you an additional $1,000 for your efforts.
It sounds great, doesn't it?
Perhaps it is a bit too good?
I don't know - I'm not making any judgments here. However, when something seems too good for it to be true, it often is.
What are the requirements to join Audiobook Income Academy?
It is easy to join Audiobook Income Academy by signing up and paying the fees.
This is their main selling point.
While you will need to take time to learn the content, it is not a problem. Anyone can do the training if they are motivated and have the desire to succeed.
What is the course duration?
The course will last 7 weeks and each week will contain a series of lessons and training videos.
You can access the entire course in training videos that contain over 40 hours worth of content.
Recently, I noticed a trend in which courses such as this are laid out over several weeks. The content is withheld so that each module can be taken out one at a time.
This ensures users don't become overwhelmed and allows them to focus on each piece of content.
Audiobook Income Academy: Is it a scam or the real deal?
When someone starts looking at courses like Audiobook Income Academy, the first thing they ask is whether it holds up or if it's just a bunch of fluff you can find elsewhere for free.
My thoughts ?... a little of each.
The Mikkelsen twins are a good pair.
They are engaging YouTube ads that keep their viewers hooked.
It's clear that the content they teach works. I mean, people sell Audiobooks every day on Amazon so there is definitely money to make.
It's not as simple as they say.
Amazon publishing is a way for the twins to make money, but I'm not sure how much.
I was unable to locate any evidence or earnings reports. They seem content to display customer testimonials all over their sales page.
My "Spidey", or my sense of humor, got me thinking about whether they make most of their income from publishing or teaching the theory behind publishing.
It's most likely the former, and here's why...
Reddit Feedback: Not everyone is a fan
There are a lot of interesting Reddit threads that make it clear that not everybody who purchases Audiobook is a fan.
One participant mentioned that the Mikkelsen twins were enrolled in another publishing course, and that they just rehashed the content of that course into their course.
A few people commented on the fact that the twins had their Amazon publishing accounts revoked and they no longer sell their own products. This leads me to believe that they could be making their most money by selling this course.
That's all I could find online. Who knows the truth?
However, I do know that smoke is more common than fire so be careful.
Audiobook Income Academy: Pros and Cons
Audiobook Income Academy Pros:
The twins deserve credit for how much content they have included in this course.
The modules are full of information and cover all aspects of Kindle publishing.
Despite that, the content is very basic and great for beginners. That's the entire sales pitch. - It's so simple
After logging in to the course, the interface is very intuitive and easy-to-use.
The modules are clearly laid out and easy to follow.
Weekly coaching calls are also available, which are held every Monday. The twins help people and share their knowledge live on the calls.
My success in local lead generation has been greatly influenced by my ongoing coaching calls.
Weekly calls like these are super motivating. They also help you stay accountable and show what is possible, as other students succeed.
Finally, Audiobook Income Academy 2.0 members get access to the private Facebook Group.
This group will allow you to share your knowledge and ideas with other students.
My only advice is to be cautious when swimming with sharks.
There are only so many niches that can be picked without the market becoming saturated.
They'll assure you there aren’t. But if I were you, I would be cautious about sharing projects in the Facebook group with anyone else.
Audiobook Income Academy: Cons
Audiobook Income Academy Cons:
Audiobook Income Academy is not without its flaws, as with all courses.
First, I am not convinced by the business model of producing Kindle and Audiobooks.
It's not a fad. But, I don't think it will be over saturated soon.
From my experience selling on Amazon's FBA platform, I know that it has become highly saturated. This means that it is now very competitive.
The Kindle and Audiobook models could end up in the same fashion, and I doubt the viability of the business model.
It's not "new", as they continue to tell us in their webinar and course.
Since ....well was created, the sale of Kindles and Audiobooks has been a tradition.
A second thing that stood out to me was the stark contrast between what I saw online and the testimonials and reviews on their sales page.
Independent review and forum platforms are more trustworthy than sales pages where course sellers control what is published, and even more important, what isn’t.
I was left wondering if they were trying to control the narrative.
I thought the price was too high for what was offered. I have already stated that I don't mind spending money on courses that provide a solid return on investment. However, this course is not my favorite.
Conclusion: It's time to make a decision
This Review: Should You Buy Audiobook Income Academy Or Something Else?
Okay, let's get to the point.
You are here because you want to know whether you should purchase the Audiobook Income Academy course or if your focus should be on a different type of business model.
My opinion...I suggest that you give it another chance!
This course is valuable, but I don't think it is worthless. People do make some money by applying the information learned throughout.
There are better business models that I believe will give you a steady, reliable, and scalable income over the long-term.
What do I need to know?
My online business is currently making me $50K+ per month. I don't plan to change this business.
Here are some details about my online business...
A Better Business Model – My #1 Pick
After trying many different business models over the past few years including Dropshipping, Affiliate Marketing, Amazon FBA and Dropshipping I finally quit them all and focused solely on my local lead generation company.
Local lead generation is a way to generate leads for local businesses that need more customers. These might include plumbers, roofers, tree services, and carpet cleaners.
They pay you in return for your leads. But most importantly, because they have more potential customers, they are happy to pay.
Do you think a business can't have more customers?
Here's how it works:
Let's suppose you create a website about a tree-service. The website is then ranked in Google and assigned a tracking number.
The next step is to redirect the call tracking number into a local tree company that is seeking more customers.
People search Google for tree services and find your website. They then call the number. The caller is then directed to the nearest tree service company, who will take the call and book the job.
You are then paid by the tree service for sending them leads. You could receive a flat fee per month or a fee for each lead you send.
Here are a few reasons I love local lead generation.
Local Lead Generation Always Wins
I was able to leave my 9-5 job and start my own local lead generation company.
