Early Career
He was faced with the reality of his financial situation after he graduated. He owed $20,000, and was living paycheck to paycheck at a coffee shop.
Kanae said in August 2012 in an interview that he was at rock bottom. Kanae couldn't afford even a decent gift for his girlfriend on her birthday. Instead, he gave his mother's purse.
He promised himself that he would never be in the same situation again.
Eight months later, he quit his job to start working in online marketing. He earned a comfortable five figure salary.
First Online Marketing Ventures
Throughout his time at the University of Hawaii, Kanae was involved in the field of Internet Marketing.
To expand his digital knowledge, he participated in training and events.
His LinkedIn page states that he was a social media marketer who worked for several marketing companies from 2000 to 2010.
