Deep Covered Baker No-Knead Bread

This bread has a wonderful feature: it doesn't need to be kneaded. Kneading can be tedious and hard for some bread bakers. Once they learn the basics, kneading becomes a form of art. It's almost like dancing or playing an instrument. This is a popular skill, despite the fact that kneading does not require any skills whatsoever. This is a great place to work out.

It's here. This recipe is from the Pampered chef's collection of recipes.

  • 3 cups (750 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1 - 2 TBSP (15-30 mL) Panry(r) Seasoning mix or Rub (see Tip).
  • 1 tsp (5mL) quick-rising yeast
  • 1 tsp (5mL) salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (375mL) water
  • 3 Tbsp (45mL) olive oil or canola, divided (see Cook’s Tip).

  1. In a large Bamboo Fiber Bowl, combine flour, seasoning mix and yeast. Mix the flour mixture with 2 tbsp (30mL) oil. Stir until well combined. The dough will be slightly sticky.
  2. Place the bowl in a plastic wrap. Cover it with plastic wrap. Let rise at room temperature for 6-10 hours, or until the dough doubles in size.
  3. Brush Deep Covered Baker using Chef’s Silicone Basting brush.
  4. Dust flour on the top of the dough. Place the dough in a baking dish by folding it over three to four times.
  5. Microwave 2 cups of 500 mL water in Small Batter Bowl for 3-5 minutes, or until boiling
  6. Place the uncovered baker in a warm oven. Next, place the batter bowl. The oven should be closed. Let the dough rise for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  7. To avoid the dough from bursting, carefully remove the baker from the oven. Take out the batter bowl. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, then cover the baking pan with a lid. Bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until bread is golden brown.
  9. The baker should be removed from the oven. Remove bread carefully from the oven to Stackable cooling rack. Let cool for at least 20 minutes.
